Dry air in the apartment and its effect on hair

Dry and warm air in our homes (and workplaces) adversely affects our hair, skin and body. The problem becomes apparent in the fall, when we start to heat our

homes.

Dry air causes:

* drying of the hair, and consequently:

* crushing, breaking and splitting ends,

* hair dullness, roughness,

* problems with dandruff.

How to humidify the air at home?

We can use several methods:

1. Plants! Growing plants at home has many advantages. They absorb toxins and carbon dioxide, and are also great air humidifiers.

2. Air humidification. Hanging wet towels over the radiators and placing containers of water is the simplest, but not always effective enough. If it does not bring the expected results, the next step is to buy an air humidifier.

3. Taking a shower instead of bathing can help in the short term. Water evaporates more when showering.

4. Frequent airing of rooms when it is wet outside.

5. Room temperature control. Try not to set the temperature too high.

How to protect hair against dry air?

1. Intensive moisturizing - the use of masks with humectants will moisturize dry hair. Among humidifiers, it is good to look for aloe, glycerin, honey, propylene glycol, hyaluronic acid, lactic acid, panthenol, vitamins.

2. Oiling and using a protective serum. Emollients trap water in the bristles so they prevent it from evaporating. They create an occlusive layer on the hair.

3. Avoiding hair styling equipment.
